Heaven on Earth
Banff, Canada.
I will be there…

Went downtown yesterday… it was a hot day and I fell asleep in the car while reading, hehe :p
Anyways, went for a meeting at Blenz and I had this iced moccha. I also ordered a shaken peach iced tea for Sze Zin and guess what… I was kept waiting over the counter long enough to drive me nuts. I can’t stand it when people make me wait like stupid. How was it like stupid? Well, this waiter took my order, I paid, and he passed my order on to his fellow waitress who was then making 3 ice blended’s for another lady. She was swaying her way back and forth ever so slowly and it took her forever to get the 3 cups of order done. Finally she went to my order. Again, moving ever so slowly to just get that 1 iced tea done. Then she put the iced tea on the counter for me. She went back and moved from left to right, right to left, and I was wondering what the heck she was up to.
There were 2 other customers AFTER me, and they both had walked away with their cuppas. I was still standing there watching this not-so-attractive ballet-wannabe movements. The waiter was done with all the orders and it looked to me like both of them were now relaxing while I was still standing there!! I started to get pissed.
“Hey guys, so is this going to take much longer, you think?” I asked both of them.
The waitress looked confused with my comments, and before they opened their mouth, I said “I’ve been waiting here forever, and your 2 other customers who came AFTER I did have also walked away with their orders.”.
The waiter: “Erm… what are you waiting for?” (in very low, polite voice)
Me: (in high-pitch angry voice and face) “MY ORDER!?! What else am I waiting for???”
The waitress then tried to speak in defense, saying that they only had one machine that makes moccha, and that she was working on the other order. I said, “I don’t care about that. It takes too unreasonably long for me to just get my cup of moccha. And 2 other customers have walked away. I have a meeting in progress, you know?”
The waiter handed me a “Friends of Blenz” card rightaway without saying much. It’s basically a card that they give out to customers who are not satisfied so that they get a free item the next time they order. He then went on to apologize, and took over the moccha work by himself.
And guess what, it didn’t even take 1 minute to make my drink when I stand in their face like that. But when I was being nice, they took forever.
Anyways… enough of the emotions.
We had sushi and bento for dinner downtown after the meeting before heading home.
My chicken teriyaki bento that came with salad, 2 pieces of gyoza, and 4 pieces of tempura including 2 ebi tempura. Yum~ Of course I couldn’t finish this all by myself.
And Sze Zin had this tray of sushi (salmon, crab meat and avocado).
It’s all about food here…
Dinner at La Spaghetteria last Wednesday.
Weekend brunch at De Dutch on Saturday.
Went to Crystal Mall again today to run some errands and as I was on the phone, walked by this music store. When I finished talking, I walked in to check out their theory books. My boyfriend, with his usual super observant eyes, then pointed out to me a piano that was exactly like the one I had in KL, except that mine was mahogany red and this one was black.
Guess what then… they had an option for rental for $42 PER MONTH. I had to ask them if the $42 on the sign was per day and the store guy looked at me with this look and he went… “No! It is for a month.”
Immediately I was like… “WHERE HAVE I BEEN ALL THIS WHILE???”
The transportation costs $150 BOTH WAYS, and $80 for tuning once they send it to your house. There is a minimum term of 3 months, and a deposit of $500.
O.M.G.
In KL, there was no rental option that I could find. Rental at Yamaha would mean RM20 (that’s roughly $6.xx Canadian $) FOR AN HOUR, and at their place. Could you blame me for presuming that the $42 here was for a day???
Although I really don’t know how long more I’m going to stay here for, that really left me thrilled for the rest of the afternoon! Yippee!!!
Anyways…
Grabbed a bag of donut peaches and a 1.5lb (about 0.75kg) tray of blueberries today.
And check these out…
I had the blueberry blossom donut and coffee at Tim Hortons this afternoon after shopping for the fruits.
And here are some pics from dinner at White Spot on Sunday evening.
We split a clam chowder for appie, a wild pacific salmon caesar salad for the main, and since towards the end there was still “some” room, I ordered a MINI hot fudge brownie. The MINI isn’t at all MINI in my dictionary. And holy was it ever so sweet. Seriously, things are overly sugared up here. I always find dessert here being way too sweet, including ice cream in a tub. Not sure if it has anything to do with that maple sugar thingy, because maple syrup is supposed to be very sweet yet a lot lower in calories compared to regular sugar. Don’t know. I’m not a fan of super sweet anyways.
So I took a while to finish up that supposedly small dessert. Was good though.
Went for a Thai restaurant downtown on Friday for dinner.
We split a Thai fried rice (named after the restaurant, Salathai) and a really spicy tom yam goong. Yummy~
