Joyous and Successful New Year to All, and to All!

January 1st, 2010

Talk about starting the new year right… it’s 18 degrees in a summer morning here. It rained a bit. It’s lovely weather to stay in. And start the new year right.

I’m all ready and prepared for the new year. I do not write down resolutions, and I have not ever intended to. I don’t see the point. I have never seen or known of any one who does, and yet keeps to the new year resolutions longer than it takes for the new year’s eve dinner leftover to go bad.

Instead, I choose to go with the flow. I have goals. I can visualize them. I have plans on how to possibly reach them. I keep them fluid and flexible. Things change, people change. So just keep the spirits up. You have the right to be happy, upbeat, or even sometimes feel down and frown. Let the emotions roam and liberate yourself. Choose to live every day, every week, every month, and every year by giving it your all. Every day of the year is as good a time to reach out to your goals as new year’s day.

I’ve had my share of the champagne, the wine, the celebrations and family dinners. So… I guess we’re all off to a great start.

CHEERS, and HERE’S to a JOYOUS and SUCCESSFUL NEW YEAR to ALL, and TO ALL.

LOVE, SUSY.

Thank you ABBA for the music.

Spending A Holiday Monday

August 7th, 2009

Realizing on a Sunday evening that it is gonna be holiday on the Monday to come is always nice.

Chillaxing way to spend the day…

1. Start the day right.

So… we got up early at around 7.20 AM. I got online and got to my work until at about close to 9 AM, and I was like, “Let’s head out for brekky.” It is rare that I wake up early enough on weekends here to just go for brekky. On weekdays I’m usually up around 7, but coffee is all I have for the morning. On weekends, it usually gets late enough by the time we head out for it to be a brunch more so than a brekky.

I said I wanted to have HK style of brekky. Definitely doable. A place that is like a second HK is just down the road. Richmond. LOL.

2. Head to somewhere to soak in the mild sunshine with some cool breeze.

We headed to Steveston. Always nice to take a stroll around Steveston on a relaxing day.

Grabbed a coconut bubble drink and an iced tea to rehydrate, and then continued to take an easy stroll towards the water, where the fishermen set up fish markets in their boats on the water. Incidentally they were having this big sale of prawns that day. I overheard it was 4 lbs for $10.

3. Go check out “The Oval” that’s being built for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

4. Grab fresh summer fruits from the farmer’s market.

The lapin cherries were huge. I think that basket was about 2 lbs and I finished them in 2 servings.

The fruits from Two EE’s market were great. We only spent about $11 for all of these.

5. Chillax for the rest of the day. Pick up a Cosmo. Pop in a movie. Have dinner. Have coffee after dinner. Whatever makes you happy and relaxed. We watched The Notebook that evening. Mushy mushy, and quite fairy-taley. But overall quite emotional and a nice story.

Whistler

April 1st, 2009

March 29th, 2009

A day at Whistler, the venue for the upcoming Winter Olympics 2010. Lots of construction work was still in progress especially along the highway, so traffic was rather congested as many of the two-laners merge into one on the way down.

Check out more photos from my Photo Album.

Along the way up to the mountain, snow was still thick and the lakes were still frozen. It snowed the night before and the temperature on the mountain was around -10 degrees (Celcius).

Whistler Blackcomb was packed with snowboarders, skiiers and ice skaters as it was such a nice day.

Walked around for a bit before having lunch at La Boosa. Ordered seafood liguini and a pizza for us.

March 21st, 2009

After Grouse Mountain, we went to have lunch in the city, and then headed downtown.

Lunch at Petit Saigon.

We then took a 1.5 hour walk around downtown area. Weather was so pleasant and I absolutely love Vancouver downtown.

Check out more photos of Van downtown from my Photo Album.

Took a shot of Sze-Zin’s condo building in Van downtown.
